They are normally trouble-free, but problems can occur if the tubing or hoses become bent or kinked. In addition, sometimes the internal layer of rubber in the fuel hoses will collapse and reduce or stop fuel flow. Fuel Overflow or Return Lines -- These lines return diesel fuel either to the fuel tank or to the inlet side of a fuel filter. Some manufacturers pass fuel through the nozzles to absorb heat. When nozzles get too hot, fuel can start burning in the nozzles and deposit carbon on the needle and seat, causing the nozzles to fail.
